| Purpose |
| The committee acts under the charter
approval of the Aviation
Management Council (AMC). The purpose of the IAT Steering Committee
is to provide advice, technical assistance, evaluation, and oversight to those
agencies conducting and coordinating IAT modules.
This oversight includes maintaining quality control of the modules, Aviation
Conference and Education (ACE), presentation methodology, and instructor
recruitment and qualifications. The steering committee will coordinate
with the National Wildfire
Coordinating Group (NWCG) and other interagency groups to ensure that
interagency aviation training objectives are met. |

| Membership |
| The steering committee shall consist of
representatives of the Departments of the Interior and Agriculture. The
committee is open to other agencies that choose to participate. Agencies
will identify their representative to this committee in writing.
Membership includes a minimum number of representatives from the following
agencies: |

Office of Aircraft Services Training Officer
Bureau of Land Management Training and Safety Manager
National Park Service (1)
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (1)
U.S. Geological Survey (1)
Bureau of Reclamation (1)

| Organization |
| Chairperson's tenure will be on a 2-year basis.
The chairperson may appoint a recorder, secretary, or other officers necessary
for the functioning of the committee on an as-needed basis. |

| Authority of
Chairperson |
| The chairperson may call and conduct meetings and
submit committee recommendations to the Operations Oversight Committee of the Aviation
Management Council (AMC). The committee will develop and the
chairperson will submit a program of work (i.e., operating plan, planned
projects, and estimated funding needs) to the Operations Oversight Committee by
June 30 annually. |

| Meetings |
| Meetings will be held annually (at a minimum) to
ensure the quality and integrity of the IAT
program. |
