| Brand consistency and brand recognition
is an important attribute of any successful business. Although our
brand was realigned to Aviation Management Directorate (AMD) some
time ago, we have not completed the transition to this new name.
This "identity crisis" has resulted in confusion among our
employees, customers, and interagency partners, limiting our ability
to service our current customers, attract new customers, and forge
stronger ties with our partners. Our future success in building on
the OAS reputation to establish enhanced brand recognition and
equity for NBC-AMD is tied in part to completing this transition.
In March, we reaffirmed our commitment the task of identifying
those items that had not been transitioned from OAS to NBC-AMD and
completing the transition of those remaining items from OAS to NBC-AMD.
Our goal is to have the transition completed no later than 30
September 2006.
In keeping with the our objective to completely transition to the
NBC-AMD brand, the http://www.oas.gov name will be retired on 9/24/2006.
The new name (or URL) is http://www.nbc.gov/amd and will be in place at 10:00 am MDT, 9/24/2006. Along with the name
change, the following actions will also go into effect:
- All references to OAS will be renamed to NBC-AMD (except some
form titles: to be changes at a later date).
- All links will corrected to refer to the new NBC-AMD name.
- All necessary folders will be renamed to remove OAS.
- The email address for all NBC-AMD staff will change to nbc.gov
(e.g., Jane_Doe@NBC.GOV)
- The old URL will remain in place and will re-direct to the new
name, ensuring that our valued
customers and stakeholders will still be able to access our
website.
- The old email addresses will work for an indefinite period.
When the old email address is used, it will be delivered and will
send an auto notification will alert sender of the address change
when the old address is used, again ensuring that important email
connectivity remains.
